Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the world. Due to the endemic poverty, many families struggle to provide adequately for their families and malnourishment among children is widespread. The government provides limited resources and most children go to school in dilapidated structures with limited texts and other basic necessities.

Christ gives a simple clarion call to serve where a need is found. Challenged in different ways, the directors of Rayo de Sol share a common desire to answer this call to service in Nicaragua. After several exploratory trips, Rayo de Sol settled on two communities based on their immediate needs and locations to start ministry programs. The organization’s long-term goal is to enable the children of Nicaragua to realize their full God-given potential. The mission is to equip them to boldly step out and build a better future for themselves and the generations to follow.
